In my opinion, an extremely stupid thing to do, i just got back from a really bad tubing accident where my kid brother shot across the rapids and past the landing spot and then sank his tube with a hook from his fly. i thought about it before leaving but decided not to be stupid and did not try it. It might sound brilliant at the time, but if you hook a big one, you are gonna have some issues with current and your fish. Waders are a much safer and more sane way to go.

What you want is drag chains.

take about 8ft of roap and tie it off on ur tube on the other end tie a hook of some sort *i use a D-Hook* then get 3 pieces of 3 foot chain and conect them to the D-Hook i use 6 for my kayak but what it ill do is stop you when you want. and since its not an ancor it doesnt get hung up if ou want to move just a little bit pick up on the roap

    hope this helped.
